Real Wedding
Our wedding at the
Grove Park Inn
This early-fall celebration at the Omni Grove Park Inn was one of those days where everything came together — clear blue mountain skies, the first hints of color in the trees, and a couple who wanted their florals to feel timeless, elegant, and unmistakably romantic.
The couple exchanged vows on the lawn beside the Seely Pavilion, where an aisle of lush white blooms led to a pair of tall white pedestals overflowing with roses, stock, and hydrangea. Ornamental grasses and the Blue Ridge treeline framed every photo, so we kept the palette all white and green to let the setting shine.
Inside the Seely Pavilion, long family-style tables ran beneath the timber ceiling and the stacked-stone fireplace. Low, garden-style centerpieces and candlelight kept sightlines open for toasts, and a cascade of fresh white roses finished the wedding cake. The bridesmaids wore black, which made their all-white bouquets pop against the granite walls and gardens of the inn.
The florals
- Bridal bouquet of white roses, lisianthus, and soft greenery with silk ribbon
- Matching all-white bridesmaid bouquets
- Aisle meadows of hydrangea, stock, and roses lining the ceremony aisle
- Tall white ceremony pedestals flanking the altar
- Low, lush centerpieces along family-style reception tables
- Candlelight and bud vases to soften the stone and glass
- Fresh-flower cascade on the wedding cake
- Boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen

The Venue
About the
Grove Park Inn
Omni Grove Park Inn290 Macon Avenue
Asheville, NC 28804

The first time you pull up to the Grove Park Inn, it stops you in your tracks. The whole building looks like it grew out of Sunset Mountain — rough granite walls, a red tile roof, and the Blue Ridge rolling away behind it. It opened in 1913, it's on the National Register of Historic Places, and it has hosted everyone from F. Scott Fitzgerald to a long list of U.S. presidents.
From a florist's point of view, what makes the inn special is its materials. Gray-gold stone, honey-toned Arts & Crafts woodwork, and huge hearths give every arrangement a natural, timeless backdrop. Clean whites and greens look crisp against the granite, and deep fall colors glow next to the warm wood. Very few venues photograph this well in every season.
It's also a true weekend destination. Guests can stay on property, tee off in the morning, spend the afternoon at the spa, and walk to the ceremony — which means your florals get seen at the welcome party, the wedding, and the farewell brunch, not just for one evening.
Ceremony & reception spaces
Seely Pavilion
Indoor/outdoor · 75–150 guests
Where our featured wedding took place. Vows happen on the lawn out front, then everyone moves inside for dinner. The big stone hearth is the natural focal point for a head table, and the walls of glass mean daytime light is gorgeous for photos — we like low, lush centerpieces here so nothing blocks the view.
Mountain View Terrace & Skyline Room
Indoor/outdoor · 125–200 guests
The pick for bigger guest lists and the most dramatic mountain views. Because the terrace is so open, we plan sturdy, well-weighted ceremony pieces and talk through a tent plan early so the design works rain or shine.
The Country Club
Indoor/outdoor · 75–120 guests
A storybook clubhouse beside the golf course with a classic, old-world feel. Its indoor rooms suit candlelit, garden-style tablescapes, and the patio makes a beautiful spot for a ceremony with greenery-heavy aisle arrangements.
Vanderbilt Terrace
Outdoor · 50–75 guests
Our favorite for smaller weddings. With fewer guests you can put more of the floral budget into statement pieces — a lush ceremony backdrop or a single long, abundant table.
Grand & Heritage Ballrooms
Indoor · large events
Mostly booked for conferences and galas, but worth asking about if your list is over 200. Large indoor rooms like these benefit from tall centerpieces and a few big installations to bring the scale down to something intimate.
What's Included
Wedding services at
Grove Park Inn
The Omni Grove Park Inn is a full-service venue, so much of your weekend can be handled in-house. Florals, planning, photography, and music are brought in by you — which is where we come in.
All-inclusive wedding packages
Pricing is per guest and bundles the bar, a toast, and your cake, so the big-ticket food and drink decisions are mostly made for you. Packages step up in how elaborate the cocktail hour and dinner get.
In-house catering & bar
The resort's own kitchen and bar team handles every meal and drink — outside caterers aren't part of the picture here. If you want flowers on food displays or the cake, we'll coordinate directly with them.
Getting-ready rooms
You'll have a space to get ready on site, which makes our morning simple: we deliver bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages straight to you, in time for detail photos.
Guest room blocks
Hold a block of rooms and guests book through their own link. Tip: guests staying in the historic part of the inn get the most character, while the newer wings feel more like a modern resort.
Weekend events
Because everyone's already on site, it's easy to host the whole weekend there — and we can design smaller, coordinated arrangements for the rehearsal dinner or brunch so the look carries through.
Spa parties & golf
Two of the easiest ways to keep guests happy before the big day. Ask the venue about group spa time for your crew or a tee time for the golfers.
Ceremony & reception setup
The basics — ceremony chairs, linens, and a dance floor — come with your package. Florals, specialty rentals, and lighting are where you personalize the look.
Preferred partners
The venue has its own décor and AV partners, but you're free to bring your own florist — we just provide our insurance certificate. You'll also need a professional planner, which we highly recommend anyway.

For You & Your Guests
Things to do at the
Grove Park Inn
One of the best things about a Grove Park Inn wedding is that your guests never have to leave. Here's what's on property for a full wedding weekend.
The Spa
Probably the most-loved part of the resort. It's carved into the mountain under the inn, and a few hours in the pools the day before the wedding is the best kind of pre-wedding calm (adults only).
Donald Ross Golf Course
A Donald Ross course from the 1920s that rolls right up to the inn. Book the groomsmen an early tee time and they'll be back in plenty of time to get dressed.
Dining
Several restaurants on site, from casual pub fare at Edison to dinner with a mountain sunset on the Sunset Terrace. Blue Ridge is a great pick for a day-after brunch with family.
Bars & live music
Grab a nightcap in the Great Hall by the massive stone fireplaces, or send the party crowd to the dueling piano bar once the reception wraps.
Pools & sports complex
Pools, tennis, pickleball, and a gym keep active guests (and kids) busy while the wedding party is getting ready.
History & Grovewood Village
The inn is basically a museum of Arts & Crafts furniture, and the galleries at Grovewood Village are a short walk away. Holiday guests get to see the famous gingerbread house displays too.

Planning Notes
Florals for every
mountain season
Spring
Ranunculus · tulips · peonies
Fresh greens and blooming dogwoods across the mountains. Soft pastels and airy garden textures feel right at home.
Summer
Garden roses · hydrangea · cosmos
Lush and green with warm days and cool evenings. Plan a covered backup — afternoon mountain showers are common.
Fall
Dahlias · amaranthus · garden roses
Peak season. Asheville's color usually peaks in mid-to-late October. All-white florals feel crisp; jewel tones echo the foliage.
Winter
Amaryllis · hellebores · evergreens
Cozy and romantic, with roaring fireplaces and holiday décor. Rich greenery and candlelight are stunning against the stone.
Designing for the Grove Park Inn
Let the stone and views lead
Granite, timber, and mountain skies are already doing a lot. We design florals that complement the architecture rather than compete with it — a restrained palette like this wedding's all-white look reads elegant in every photo.
Design for mountain weather
Outdoor ceremonies on the lawns and terraces mean sun, wind, and the occasional shower. We choose hardy blooms, weight tall pieces, and plan ceremony arrangements that can move inside to the reception if the forecast turns.
Frame the fireplaces
The Seely Pavilion and Mountain View Terrace both have dramatic stone fireplaces. Mantel garlands and hearth arrangements make a gorgeous focal point — we'll coordinate placement with the venue so flowers stay clear of a lit fire.
Seamless load-in from Charlotte
We're about two hours away, so we arrive early with conditioned, ready-to-install flowers. We coordinate timing with your planner and the Omni events team, provide proof of insurance, and handle breakdown at the end of the night.
